Boro Revisited Art

Inspired by Japanese Boro textiles, these pieces are made from upcycled worn flannel shirts enhanced with Sashiko style running stitches. Patchwork is used as a metaphor for mending the disparate and broken pieces of ourselves and the world. The heartbreak, the grief, the sadness, the despair. All of it needs tending to and is in desperate need of repair.

The plaids in these pieces are familiar, and evoke a feeling of nostalgia. They comfort and soothe, and also create a dynamic design.
